Photo Featured on the Local News
Being in the right place at the right time and always having a camera pays off. Today was very windy… wind gusts in the 50mph+ range. Trees were breaking, homes were losing power and one nearby road even had 7-8 utility poles buckle under all the stress from the high winds. Well, I didn’t have a camera with me but the camera’s built into many smart phones do a pretty good job in the right hands. I captured the above photo showing part of a tree that came down right in the middle of a main road taking down utility wires with it. The road was closed and traffic diverted for at least 4 hours while crews cleaned up the fallen tree and repaired the utility lines. Luckily no one was injured in this incident. This photo ran on 4 local television evening newscasts and was the lead feature story for 2 of them. It goes to show that having a camera with you at the right time can pay off.

Giving Back With Photography
The snow and cold has hit and for the most part the wedding season has slowed to a crawl hear in the Northeast. This makes for a great time to give back to the local community in one of the many ways I know how. This past Saturday I donated my services and photographed children’s portraits with Santa at a local organization. We had very close to 50 families at the event that lasted for three hours. It was a blast and it was great to see and capture just how happy all the children were to see Santa only weeks before Christmas. I’ll be donating my photography services at one more children’s portraits with Santa next weekend to wrap up a great year of lifestyle and wedding photography.
